a. Although ASTM D-3306 requirements for pH of a prediluted Antifreeze/Coolant are between 7.5 and 11.0, the result for the product tested is within the working range of the test method (ASTM D-1287) repeatability which takes into account common-cause variation associated with the test method.
b. Although the sample tested was not purchased in a state requiring bitterant, 17 states require a minimum of 30ppm to make engine coolants unpalatable to people and animals. Bitterant has no measurable performance benefit or detriment to coolants at levels mandated.
