The Petroleum Quality Institute of America (PQIA) is an independent resource for information and insights on the quality of lubricants in the marketplace. The results of the tests conducted on this sample are NOT consistent with the API Service Category listed on the product label. This product is labeled as API Service SA which by definition should contain no additives. The metal analysis results for this sample indicate the product does contain some additives. In addition, the labels fail to give adequate warning that the API Service Category listed on the product label is OBSOLETE and is not suitable for use in most gasoline-powered automotive engines built after 1930. Use in more modern engines may cause unsatisfactory performance or equipment harm.
